History

The rise of the Boko Haram insurgency in Northeastern Nigeria in 2009 was marked by series of deadly attacks, kidnappings, and acts of terrorism, leading to devastating humanitarian and security challenges that left millions of people faced with hunger, displacement and profound suffering. Amidst this challenge, an enterprise emerged, necessitated by a blend of adversity and purpose.

Driven by relentless grit and vision, in 2016 Olisa Omenye ventured into the war-torn terrain to chase a dream. His quest was to source grains from local Nigerian farmers and supply aid organizations such as the United Nations World Food Program, the International Committee of the Red Cross (RCRC) and Save the Children Who in 2016 struggled to feed the vulnerable communities impacted by the violent insurgency in the northeast. Armed with sheer determination, Omenye journeyed deep into the region, traversing towns and villages in the northeast, northwest and north central aggregating grains. He built an intricate network of smallholder farmers and suppliers of grains from 2016 to 2017. As his supplies expanded, and as displacement ravaged the Northeast, his food supplies became lifeline and a dependable source from international humanitarian agencies in northeast Nigeria.
